A family-run boat, built to show you the reef

Glass Bottom Boats of Islamorada is run by Captain Brian McCadie and Elizabeth McCadie. Brian spent years as a Coast Guard licensed fishing charter captain before the two of them set out to share the reef with people who would rather stay dry.

Meet the Transparensea

The Transparensea is a 46-foot glass-bottom boat purpose-built by Newton in 2023. Two viewing areas in the hull hold 16 glass windows, so everyone gets a clear look at the reef below.

She carries a Seakeeper gyro stabilizer, which cuts down the side-to-side roll most boats have at anchor. As far as we know, she is the only Seakeeper-stabilized glass-bottom boat in Florida.

Guides who know the reef

Our tour guides are educated in marine science. They narrate the whole trip, point out what is moving under the glass, and never run out of patience for questions from kids.

Guests tell us the crew is what makes the trip. We think the reef deserves some of the credit, too.
